At the most recent business meeting, the key topic of importance was reviewing and finalizing the Capital Bonds Project referendum. The results from a recent January survey about the Bond were shared, which detailed the thoughts of the Scarsdale community. The Board decided the current bond (with the addition of new A/C for Heathcote Elementary’s multi-purpose room), was a good balance of managing impactful projects with a reasonable price.
A timeline was announced regarding the next steps for Bond. On February 2nd, a Public Bond Forum will be held inviting input from the community, during March the Bond resolution will most likely be adopted, and on May 19th the Bond will be voted on during the Board election.
Additionally, at the meeting earlier this month a model calendar for the 2026-2027 school year was presented. Notable events on the calendar include an early school start on September 1st, two weeks of winter break, and a four-day-weekend for celebrating Easter on top of a week-long spring break. This new calendar will be presented at the upcoming meeting on February 2nd for adoption.
The bond will remain a key topic for the Board throughout this spring. If you have any comments or concerns, please email [email protected]. The most current bond proposal is available in the January 12th meeting agenda here.
