On Wednesday, October 11th, the Scarsdale Raiders Varsity A Boy’s soccer team faced off against their longtime rivals, the Mamaroneck Tigers. Though they had won a game against the Tigers in September earlier this season, the Raiders were ultimately overpowered by Mamaroneck, losing the match 2-1 and bumping their record down to 4-7-1 for the season. All goals of the match were scored in the first half, with Dylan Cohn ‘19 scoring the Raiders’ only goal. Despite losing, the team remains confident with regard to the future of their season and their playoff chances after putting up a strong fight against their rivals. “The 2-1 loss to Mamaroneck was difficult to take, but I felt good about how we played, and we’re looking to continue to build toward playoffs…I’m sure we can come on top if we were to see [the Mamaroneck Tigers] in the the playoffs,” said Captain Fayez Merchant ‘19. This Monday, October 16th at 4:30, Scarsdale will face off against Yorktown in a home, non-conference match, so be sure to come and cheer them on!
