Government Goals: Plans for the '25-'26 School Year

Class government elections were held on Tuesday October 7th, and new officers are hard at work planning fun events for their respective classes.

Senior Class Government

“[The Senior class government] planned a Halloween breakfast and is excited to host Prom at the end of the school year,” Senior Class President Vanessa Karp ‘26 states. The seniors are especially excited for Prom, as it brings together the entire class for a final special event. “[Our goal] is to break the competitive barrier by making friendship bonds that are not about school,” Karp adds. The senior class government strives to make seniors’ last year their best year.

Junior Class Government

“[Our goal] is to make our class closer together,” Junior Class President Caitlin Jeremiah ‘27 says. The Junior class government will accomplish this by hosting a variety of fun events, including Junior Olympics, where the juniors reunite with their elementary school to compete against each other. The government has also planned bake sales throughout the year. The juniors are looking forward to a fun year!

Sophomore Class government

“[We plan to] strengthen our class involvement and to make sure every student feels like they have a voice,” Sophomore Class President Samuel Cascade ‘28 comments. The annual blood drive, hosted by the sophomore class is “a meaningful tradition that allows students to make a real impact on the community, and it’s something our class government will take pride in organizing,” Cascade explains. Several fundraisers and other social activities will provide a fun school year!

Freshman Class Government

“[We will] plan special food days and food trucks, friendly teacher-student competitions, class activity nights and maybe even some trips,” Freshman President Eliza Wechsler ‘29 notes. The primary goals of the freshman class government include enabling the new class to bond and giving back to the community. “We want to find a balance between making the year a lot of fun, bringing us together, and giving back,” Wechsler explains. Freshmen have already participated in a fundraiser for My Sister’s Place, an organization that supports victims of domestic violence, because of their class government’s initiative.
