The Scarsdale High School girls’ swim and dive team completed its first undefeated season in 30 years after it defeated Ardsley in its last dual meet on October 18th. The Raiders have performed strongly throughout the season, and they attribute their success to their “passion about swimming and hard work of the team,” said freestyle swimmer Nicole Kassabian ’19. Furthermore, the team was able to succeed because “we were able to come together as a team and figure out what everyone’s strengths were which benefited us in the end,” said team captain Mia Dell’Orto ’19.

On October 20th, the Section 1 League 2 Championships (divisionals) kicked off the team’s postseason. The Raiders beat Rye Neck High School—the second place team—by over 15 points. “Winning divisionals was the best feeling and everyone was so excited. We worked really hard for it and it was the first time in 30 years that this has happened, which made winning feel even more special,” said Dell’Orto. The team hopes to continue its stellar performance through the Section 1 and New York Championships.
