BarTaco’s Temporary Closing

BarTaco, Portchester’s primary Mexican restaurant, was recently forced to shut down temporarily after its food caused a county-wide breakout of Hepatitis A, a highly contagious liver disease.  It was found that a BarTaco employee had contracted this illness and spread it to customers via food and drink.  As a result, the Westchester Country Health Department issued free vaccinations to those that had recently visited the popular taco restaurant.

Many were upset upon hearing the news that BarTaco closed. “[BarTaco] has the best tacos I’ve ever eaten, and they have really great choices,” Sara Epstein ’20 commented. However, there’s no further need for disappointment as the restaurant recently has been cleaned and has passed all health inspections. In fact, October 26th marked its reopening.
