From 5 to 7 p.m. on January 28th, White Plains Hospital hosted its third annual “Bowling for Bears” event at Bowlmor White Plains. The bowling alley was packed, and music blasted throughout the space. The event benefited the pediatric department, and proceeds will go towards the purchase of teddy bears, comfort kits with cards and coloring books for patients. These services have shown to improve the pediatric hospitalization experience. “Our aim is to bring comfort to the kids, at a time that could be very scary for them,” said Charlotte Meyers ’20, Junior Board Executive, Friends of White Plains Hospital. Attendees were able to bowl, and enjoy pizza. Tickets ranged from $40 for an individual child to $1,000 for a private lane, shoe rental, pizza, soda, and admission for eight people. If you missed Bowling for Bears this year, be sure to make it next year, as there are plans to continue this fundraiser.
