In soccer, Chelsea tied Manchester City in the Premier League in an exciting 4-4 match, and Manchester United suffered a shocking loss to Copenhagen in the Champions League, losing 3-4. In basketball, James Harden has been traded to the Clippers but has had a rough start, losing his first five games with the team, and Draymond Green was suspended for five games after putting Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert in a chokehold mid-game. In football, the Cowboys demolished the Giants 47-19, and the Bills continue to fall below expectations, losing to the Broncos 22-24.

Politics:
President Biden met with China President Xi Jinping in San Francisco on Wednesday, discussing military communication, cracking down on fentanyl trafficking, and addressing rapid AI advancements in what Biden described as “some of the most productive and constructive discussions” the two have had. Also, an estimated 290,000 people participated in the “March for Israel” rally on Wednesday in Washington, D.C. to protest Hamas’s actions.

Business:
Thursday was Red Cup Day at Starbucks, where every customer who purchased something got a free reusable red cup. However, around 5,000 workers went on strike for the day in what was referred to as the Red Cup Rebellion, as part of the Workers United Union to protest understaffing in stores.
