Creative Photography Club Presents ‘Quarantine in Photos’

Written and contributed by the Creative Photography Club.

We never thought that the pandemic would finally creep up to us and enter our hometown. We never thought that we would need to stay in our homes and isolate ourselves from the rest of society, leaving us alone with our own thoughts for the longest time we had ever experienced before. With this time, we have been able to reflect creatively and spend more time doing the things we always say we want to do but never get to. Although we are living in unpredictable, terrifying, unfair, and grim times, our creativity has given us an uplifting outlet. Here is a collection of images from quarantine, from who we are spending our time with to what we have been doing during this time.

Featuring photographs by Caroline Cavalier, Charlotte Davis, Deven Gupta, and Hannah Wang.

  • A vacant post office and empty parking lot, two normally busy places.

  • An essential worker stacking the shelves as shoppers lurk through the aisles.

  • A shopper keeping their distance in a usually crowded place.

  • An observation of how the light hits, something one is usually unaware of.

  • Spring still brings life and hope into these somber times.

  • Finding beauty in the neighborhood on a socially distant stroll.

  • My sister, helping me develop new photography skills during our free time.

  • Small signs of spring emerge from the grass in the backyard.

  • Outside on the patio, spending time with my beloved puppy.

  • An old leaf stuck in the wood of the patio.

  • The rusty chains of an old swing set from childhood.

  • Blossoms blooming, creating a brighter mood during these hard times.

  • Flowers bursting from the branches of a tree. Seen on a nature walk around Scarsdale.

  • A game of chess used to pass some of the dreary time in quarantine.
