How to Stay Busy During the Coronavirus Quarantine

Getting outside is just one of the many activities that one can participate in while social distancing!

Feeling bored at home with absolutely nothing to do? Have you binge-watched all of your favorite tv shows again? Finished all assignments for the day? Here are some tips to be less bored during the Coronavirus quarantine.

  1. Get a breath of fresh air. Staying inside cooped up might make you feel gross. Go outside and ride a bike, or take a walk. For those who are able to drive, go out for a drive in the neighborhood.
  2. Read a book. Although something not everyone likes to do, sometimes reading can be just as relaxing as Netflix. Who knows, you might actually find yourself immersed in it.
  3. Try a new exercise/workout routine. You can make yourself healthy, active, and fit by working out different parts of your body. You can also do it with friends(virtually) to help you stay motivated.
  4. Have a virtual hangout. Even if you can’t actually meet up, you can always catch up with friends through a screen. This is a fun, easy way to stay up to date on each other’s lives while staying safe.
  5. Go on a hike or camp out when the weather is nice. Going on a hike in the woods with family is a great way to stay active while spending time with your family. Camping out in the woods is even better- you can disconnect from devices and get quality family time.
  6. Try cooking or baking. Cooking is a great skill that will be necessary later in life. Try learning a new recipe for a food that you usually get while eating out. Or, you can always bake those delicious brownies.
  7. Learn a new instrument or a sport using tutorials on the internet. Who knows, maybe you have discovered a new talent.

Hope these tips help you to stay busy during quarantine!

Stay safe and have a fun break!
