S.O.S—The Jonas Brothers are Back Together!
April 4, 2019
“SOS,” “Burnin’ Up,” and “Year 3000,” to name a few of our favorite JoBro jams. Anyone who is human could never forget their Camp Rock songs “Play My Music,” “Heart and Soul,” and more. Whose childhood also died in 2013 when the band’s breakup was announced?
It has been six years since the former Disney Channel stars stopped working together. Why did the JoBros break up in the first place? Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas appeared on Good Morning America in 2013 to explain how it happened. At the time, the brothers were unable to agree upon their music videos, their tour, and the direction their music was heading. They decided to separate while still supporting one another—as brothers do.
It was difficult for the fans to handle this news but even harder for the brothers themselves. Joe was confused and angry, as he had spent years putting in time and energy into the band. Three years later, Nick opened up about how he was the one to blame for the split. It was a challenge the whole family faced, even Frankie Jonas (yes, there is a fourth Jonas brother). However, the brothers grew during this time apart. Kevin started a family, while Nick and Joe continued to create their own music. Nick produced multiple top-charting singles, and Joe did the same with his band, DNCE (discovered fact: it stands for dance, without the a…). Some popular Nick Jonas songs include “Jealous,” “Close,” and “Chains.” DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” was played everywhere in 2015!
So, why are they now back together?
They reunited so they could film a documentary about their story, including their upbringing, their years as Disney Channel stars, and their lives now. As the JoBros began spending so much time together, they felt a special bond between one another that they missed. After a few deep conversations about their past and what went wrong between them, the brothers decided it was time to bring the band back together.
This announcement blew up the internet as millions of fans expressed their enthusiasm and gratefulness for the band’s reunion. 2000s kids were beyond excited, posting memes, GIFs, and hanging up J-14 Jonas Brothers posters from 2009. The Jonas Brothers recently released their new song, “Sucker,” along with a music video featuring their partners. The brothers are also releasing another single, “Cool,” this Friday. Fans cannot wait for more music and upcoming JoBro tours.
It’s 2019. If the Jonas Brothers could do it, we’re just waiting on One Direction and Big Time Rush.
