Scarsdale’s girls’ varsity tennis team has had a season full of wins and only a couple of losses, culminating by placing third in the league. New players on the team have been getting accustomed to playing at a varsity level, and singles players were trained to play doubles. The team has been close-knit, and excited for every game, and as many of the players are seniors, the end of the season brings bittersweet emotions. “I’ve met some really wonderful people who have taught me how to be a better teammate, and I look forward to playing in college,” says Anshi Barmecha ’16. Co-captain Dorianna Marambio ’16, suffered a wrist injury prior to the season, and has struggled with not playing. “I was helpful emotionally rather than physically, which was very different from the last few years,” she says. This season has been a perfect send-off for seniors and a precedent for next year’s team.
