Constitutional Law Field Trip
December 20, 2017
On Friday, December 8th, the Constitutional Law class took a field trip to the NYCLU Award Ceremony for the Bill of Rights Day. For this event, students, who were given scenarios dealing with the Fourth Amendment, were to write an essay or a creative piece. They needed to apply the Fourth Amendment into their analysis of the constitutionality of the scenario. “I researched a lot of Supreme Court cases in the past that dealt with the Fourth Amendment, and specifically modern technology, and how they relate,” commented Lauren Jacoby ’18. Jacoby, a student of the Constitutional Law class, won the Best in Class Award for her essay. The speaker present at the NYCLU also spoke about the future of the fourth amendment and the relationship between new technology and the amendment. Katie Bowen ’18 won the overall award for the Con-Law Event.
