Principal Report

• There is a new bond proposal within the Board of Education that includes plants to renovate the little theatre, add quite rooms to library, To renovate the Learning Resource Center, renovate studio art 218 
  • Creating committees pls reach out 
• Looking to create a student focus group sharing thoughts on AI 

PTA Report

• District wide food drive to support Feeding Westchester 
  • Asked if class and student gov will help support this district effort by promoting the event 
• Goal of 10,000 pounds of food

Community Lunch Period – Alternative seating locations and solutions to overcrowding

• Students moving to classrooms but still not widespread enough 
  • Possible list of available classrooms
  • Encourage more students to ask teachers to use their classrooms
• Learning Commons packed with Cafeteria does not have same issue
  • Efforts to bridge divide between social norms keeping underclassmen in the Learning Commons 
• Adding more chairs to the brewster and auditorium commons 

Ideas for student activities during community lunch

• Pickleball tournament 
• Marchmadness watch party
• More board games and card games available for students to play
  • Possibly adding them to the I-Lab
• Coffeehouse – setting up a space for students to play music
  • As well as providing coffee and other snacks
• Karaoke or Open mic in the I-Lab

Bond Projects

• District wide survey targeted at parents → results presented at meeting
  • Asked for more student feedback
• Asking – How do we better inform the student population about the bond project? And then how do we effectively survey them?
  • Short and concise
  • Video during an extended homeroom → and then give time for students to vote
    • One form per homeroom – for students to have a conversation and teacher submits 
  • Stronger advertising
    • Posters, flyers handed out to students
  • Maroon Coverage 

Open Gradebooks 

• Asking for notifications when grades posted
  • Students also against this idea as it will create a constant obsession 
    • Like the choice of not having to look at the grades
• Want grades to be open during the day as well
• Google classroom and infinite campus have the same thing → why both?
• Being able to see all assignments but would also like to see a letter grade
