Kroll’s AT Chalk Sonnets

Every year, English teacher Pamela Kroll brings her AT English class to chalk sonnets on the slate at Brewster entrance. This chalking happens during the poetry unit; every student gets assigned a random sonnet. Arvind Sindhwani ’17 explains, “The night before, students need to annotate [their sonnet] and try to understand it; then the next day, we showcase our own artistic interpretation of the sonnet”. He adds, “the students are responsible for ‘transcribing’ the sonnets, which means that all of us put our own twist on our sonnet.” Take a look at the 2016-2017 sonnets below:
