As soon as the exciting trailer with dynamite casting (including Hollywood favorites such as Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, and Daniel Kaluuya) emerged, the world, especially the black community, was ecstatic. 

With the second biggest weekend gross of all time (second to Jurassic World) Black Panther did not disappoint as not only an exciting action movie, but as a progressive symbol of African American culture.  The movie brilliantly ventured into the story of a young man who has to assume his place as king in the African nation of Wakanda, which was secretly built on the strongest, most valuable metal in the world..  He then gets challenged for his position and must release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his enemies and secure the safety of Wakanda.

Black Panther is thrilling, heartfelt, and funny, with numerous plot twists and subtleties dispersed throughout the film.  If intense action movies aren’t for you, there is still something to appreciate in how the movie was filmed and the stunning special effects.  If action movies are your thing, seeing it in 3D magnifies the experience as a whole and pulls you in as a part of the movie.
