Scarsdale High School’s boys’ varsity A soccer team made playoffs after a great season. Their final record is highlighted by 13 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie, thereby making this season one of Scarsdale’s best. The team began their season by blowing away teams with huge wins, including a 5-0 victory against Horace Greeley. One of the two losses came at the homecoming game against Arlington when the team lost 2-0. The team trains for about 2-3 hours a day, six days a week, and plays one to two games a week. “It’s an unbelievable responsibility to lead a team and inspire younger kids to be their best,” said Captain Max Bryant ’16. He looks forward to a successful playoff season. Supporters of the team encourage more people to attend their games and support their achievements. The Raiders beat their first opponent in a shootout, White Plains, 2-1 with goals from Fayez Merchant ’18 and Michael Spiro ’17. The Raiders defeated Ketcham 2-0 with both goals from Luca Novaes ’17. Unfortunately, the team was beaten by Yorktown in the Section Finals 1-0, but the team had a successful season that they should be proud of.
