The Sugar Factory NYC: So Sweet!

If there is one place to go to in New York City during the holidays it would be the Sugar Factory, a place where candy dreams come true. It is a great restaurant to spend quality time with family and friends in the city, and the holidays are the best time for that.  From salads to milkshakes, this upscale restaurant has it all.

When I first walked into the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by warm air. Although I had to wait thirty minutes for our reservation (it was packed), the experience was worth it. The blaring music made people want to dance, and some even did. Large portions of food were served, from huge plates of cheesy pastas to smokey goblets filled with colored sugary drinks. The portions were so huge that my friends and I had to split up one meal.

Next, we got milkshakes. These were truly an extreme dessert. Mine had s’mores stacked on brownies stacked on ice cream, all on top of a milkshake. People looking for a healthy option on the menu might enjoy their range of salads. Otherwise, the burgers are the way to go. 

When someone’s birthday was being celebrated, others at surrounding tables would join in the celebration to create a truly magical moment. This, along with the extravagant food being served, created a colorful, bright, and bubbly atmosphere. 

Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I would recommend the Sugar Factory to any and all looking for a fun way to enjoy a meal with friends or family. I would rate it an 8/10, only because the process to get our food was exceedingly long, even with the reservations that we had made. At the same time, however, the food was good and served in a great atmosphere.
