Meet Your Freshman Class Government
The freshman class government was voted for on Thursday, September 27th. This is what the elected representatives hope to accomplish this year:
Claire Scarcella – President
"This year, I hope to bring Raiders pride to another level. I also want people to feel happy and excited about coming to school. I want everyone to feel comfortable and not too stressed. Additionally, I'm excited to help the school government plan amazing events, and to help lead my wonderful peers to another great year!"
Janmariz Deguia – Vice President
"During our second homeroom meeting, we talked about bringing more spirit to our school. For many years, our school has been a "low-pep environment." The freshman government is trying our best to change that. As a group, we all hope that the Class of 2022 will be the class to bring spirit into our school. In doing this, we may possibly create more spirit days throughout the year. One of the main...
Anna Forest – Treasurer
"This year I hope to give the freshman class a voice in terms of decisions on where they think the school's money should go. Since I am now the freshman class treasurer, I am fully aware that I will be handling the money aspect, and I will encourage all of my classmates to be involved in decision making. Regarding the school government, I will strive to put in as much time and effort needed to get...
Ava Londa – Secretary
"As the freshman class secretary, I would like to provide new ideas to make the school year more enjoyable for everyone. My goal is to also become a leader and someone my classmates feel comfortable talking and sharing their ideas with. In the government, I would like to help contribute in as many school events as I can and help make this year the best it can be."
Peter Troiano – House Representative
"I hope to bring a positive impact to the freshman class that they will appreciate. I believe that through representatives like me, we can hear and implement ideas from other students. I will work very hard to achieve success at whatever task I face. Also, I would like to help any student with issues or concerns relating to school. I believe that our freshman student government will work hard to have...
Lizzie Hurshman – House Representative
"This year, I'm hoping to help promote school spirit with more spirit days and more school-wide activities or dances. I also think it's important for us to have small events during the school day to help relieve stress."
Justine Karp – House Representative
"I hope to bring many things to the freshman class and school government this year. In addition to contributing with my own ideas, I want to make sure that everyone's voice is heard, whether he or she is in school government or not. I am so excited for this year, and I will do everything I can to make sure that every student feels happy and confident in his or her representatives!"
Ryan Cahaly – House Representative
"I am very excited to be part of the school government. I want to help the voices of my peers get heard this year. I hope to bring many great ideas as well as enthusiasm to all the government-run events to try to maximize the potential and fun in all of them. I’m looking forward to a great year as well as many fun events where I will be able to assist in."
Molly Flicker – House Representative
"As a house representative, I want to make sure that everyone in the freshman class has a voice. A representative should fight and broadcast things that matter to the wider group. I look forward to listening to everyone’s perspectives and taking action and initiative. I will also strive to provide good ideas of my own to make this the best freshman year possible!"
