On Friday January 8, SHS held its very first Winter Pep Rally. After years of revering the fall sports in the only pep rally at the beginning of the year, finally other sports can be represented. SHS President, Jacob Stiel ’17, credited both the crowd and the teams for the success of the pep rally. “I feel that the crowd’s excitement and participation influenced the ‘pep’ of the teams,” commented Stiel. Some of the events that were most memorable included the Freshman vs. Teacher basketball game and the Wrestling Team’s mock match. Even though student attendance was mandatory, students got excited to cheer on the underrepresented sports teams. “I’m very happy we added another [pep rally] this year because we are now able to express school spirit even more,” added Stiel. Hopefully, there will be another one next year, as this one seemed to have been a huge success. Let’s go Raiders!
