Girls’ Varsity Soccer vs Carmel

Girls+Varsity+Soccer+vs+Carmel

Saturday, October 24th Scarsdale’s Varsity A Girl’s Soccer Team, seeded 2nd, battled 15th seeded Carmel for a spot in the Class AA Quarter-finals. The Raiders came out strong, possessing and passing like a well-oiled machine. Countless shots soared above the crossbar and into the keeper’s hands, yet none found the back of the net. After the regular eighty minute game time expired, overtime commenced. The raiders, with a renewed sense of heart and drive, scored within the first 50 seconds as Riley Edlitz ’19 poked a rebounded cross from Olivia Higgins ’19 past Carmel’s keeper. The final score of 1-0 earned Scarsdale a spot in the quarter-finals, which will be played Tuesday, October 27th on the turf against New Rochelle, one of the team’s biggest rivals.
