Creed II, the eighth installment of the classic American Rocky franchise and the sequel to 2015’s Creed, is definitely a worthwhile watch. Despite the fact that the events of the movie are somewhat predictable, Creed II, directed by Ryan Coogler, lives up to the hype of its precursor with outstanding acting and an original and compelling story.

The movie tells the story of professional boxer Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan). Adonis is the son of Apollo Creed, a legendary boxer, who was killed in the ring. Against the wishes of Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), Adonis’s trainer, Adonis prepares for the fight of his life against Viktor Drago, the son of his father’s killer. Adonis grapples with conflicting loyalties between his family and his desire for vengeance as he struggles to fulfill his destiny, which soon becomes an obsession. Exceptional acting from Michael B. Jordan illuminates Adonis Creed’s emotional journey, during which he realizes what it means to fight for family, love, and friendship.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys classic American films or the world of boxing.
