As the sun went down and the sky grew darker on Friday, September 15, Dean Field was brightly lit due to the lights shining down on it. The Varsity Football players ran onto the field eager to win their homecoming game.

The team, led by captains James Conlan ’18 and Jacob Brief ’18, won the game with a final score of 21-14. “I dont think there was a moment in the game where we were down. It was tied up in the first half and the third quarter, but we just kept our heads high and kept doing what we do,” said Jack Charland ’19.

With a record of 2 wins and 0 losses prior to the game, the football team managed to accumulate over 3000 people to watch their game. “I have always loved homecoming, but it was especially fun this year. It seemed like there were a lot more people than there have been in previous years. I also thought that everyone was much more spirited and into the game this year,” said Cara Sherman ’19.

The overwhelming number of spectators did not phase the players, but rather motivated them. “Most of us on the football team work harder under stress and it really gave us something to play for,” said Charland.
